CSM and V&A’s Interweave a great success

Physicists, sociologists, developers, biologists, engineers and designers were just some of the people who attended the brilliant Interweave event last Thursday November 3.

Held by Central Saint Martins and the V&A, Interweave explored society through technologies, tools and textiles – with many different sessions across the day.

Speakers from Microsoft Research Cambridge and Arup, joined staff from Central Saint Martins and the V&A, to discuss topics as varied and rich as computational biology, augmented reality, the preservation and curation of contemporary materials and technologies, and much more. All participants were invited to make a collaborative sound and textile composition, whilst learning about basic electronic circuitry with the G.Hack team.

A fascinating day, and part of the ESRC’s Festival of Social Science.
